In 1999, Robert Feuge, a woodworking artisan in Fredericksburg, Texas, set his sights on a historic Amish barn in Ohio. Feuge partnered with David and Beth Hughes to ship the white oak frame timbers to Texas and reconstruct the barn with a new vision. Craftsmen and workers re-joined the frame in the original mortise and tenon style and added carved wooden doors and mantelpiece. The finished structure is a blend of old and new, but still retains its handmade charm.
